IHG to Open Holiday Inn in Chennai Vandalur, Expanding Hospitality Presence in South India. The signing marks IHG’s fifth hotel and the third property under the Holiday Inn brand in the city.

Chennai: IHG Hotels & Resorts, a globally recognized hospitality leader, has signed a management agreement with Sakthi Elegant Towers India Pvt Ltd to introduce a new Holiday Inn hotel in Chennai. Scheduled to open in 2026, the Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur will feature 200 rooms, contributing to IHG’s growing footprint in South India’s booming hospitality market. The announcement underscores IHG’s commitment to expanding its presence in key cities across India.

Holiday Inn, one of IHG’s most iconic brands, has consistently evolved to meet the changing needs of its guests, while maintaining a focus on comfort, convenience, and quality. This new hotel will showcase the innovative Open Lobby design, a versatile, design-led space that allows guests to relax, work, or connect in a personalized way.

Located just a short distance from Chennai International Airport in the Vandalur area, the new property will be strategically positioned near the city’s key industrial hubs, home to major global corporations. Holiday Inn Chennai Vandalur will be the fifth IHG hotel in the city, joining a portfolio of 58 Holiday Inn properties across South West Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Currently, IHG operates 46 hotels across India in six distinct brands, including Six Senses, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, voco, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn Express. The company has a strong pipeline of 58 additional hotels slated to open in the next 3-5 years, continuing its rapid growth in the region.
