Doha, Qatar, 2024-Dec-8 — /Travel PR News/ — Qatar Airways Cargo, a global leader in air freight, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Japan Airlines Cargo (JALCARGO) to deepen their partnership and expand services for cargo customers. This agreement builds on the long-standing collaboration between the two oneworld partners, aiming to optimize network connectivity and enhance product offerings for customers across their respective hubs in Doha and Tokyo.

The MoU was signed by Qatar Airways Cargo’s Chief Officer Cargo, Mark Drusch, and Japan Airlines’ Senior Vice President, Head of Cargo and Mail, Yuichiro Kito, with Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, also in attendance. The agreement seeks to streamline cargo transfers, improve operational efficiency, and provide customers with greater access to destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Levant, and Japan.

Starting next year, Qatar Airways Cargo will introduce freighter services between its hub at Hamad International Airport and Japan Airlines’ hub at Tokyo Narita Airport, further enhancing trade flows between the two regions. The partnership is expected to significantly boost economic activity, building on the 4,462 tons of import and export cargo transacted by the carriers in Japan over the past year.
